The Story of ‘Short Story’

Two artist friends, twilight visits to artisan markets, and a vow – this is the short story behind ‘Short Story’.

Inspired by Melbourne’s artisan markets, William and Caroline vowed to return the following year, each with a product that best represented their individuality.

These captivating artworks are the result.

Made from hand and heart, each work is a fusion of modern art and the traditional Eastern paper technique of origami; offering depth and story within each design.

The Art of Ceramics

We spotted John Newdigate’s ceramic landscapes in a local mag and went off to his website in search of more visual beauty.
We were well satisfied.
John’s location at the foot of a great mountain has inspired terrestrial themes in his latest work.
Valleys, cliffs, hills and vegetation come to live on these ceramic bowls.

Graphic and naturalistic styles combine to highlight man’s impact on the landscape.

A constant inspiration in John’s previous work is the ever-changing sea.
Here he explores the interplay of light and water, order and chaos.

‘My work is mostly functional, as it enriches day-to-day life, bringing art and design, imagination and inspiration into otherwise ordinary moments.’

Floodline

Lisa Golightly, an Oregon based artist, has created a new and invigorating series of abstract artwork far removed from her usual more nostalgic and subdued style of work.
The Floodline Project is the result of her experimentation with flowing mediums and saturated and intense colour.

As the work that came out of this process is so different from Lisa’s previous work, she has opened a big cartel shop from which to showcase and sell the work separately from that on her Etsy site.

View her deviation into dream-like, graceful and free-flowing movement at http://thefloodline.bigcartel.com.

More of Lisa’s art can be viewed at www.kikiandpolly.com.
Enjoy!
